In ambito ISO il Comitato Tecnico incaricato della stesura delle norme relative
ai sistemi di gestione ambientale è l'ISO/TC 207 "Sistemi
di gestione ambientale"

Scopo: Normazione nel campo dei sistemi di gestione ambientale esclusi:
• i metodi di prova per l'inquinamento che
sono di responsabilità dell'ISO/TC 146 "Qualità dell'aria,
ISO/TC 147 "Qualità dell'acqua, ISO/TC 190 "Qualità
del suolo e ISO/TC 43 "Acustica"
• stabilire limiti di inquinamento;
• stabilire livelli di prestazione ambientale;
• normalizzare i prodotti
Nota: Il TC per la gestione ambientale avrà una stretta collaborazione
con l'ISO/TC 176 nel campo del sistema ambientale e degli audit.
