In Italy, the internal combustion engine industry is represented by ITALMOT, Internal Combustion Engine Manufacturer's Association.
Italian companies have played a major role in the evolution of motor products, providing important contributions to their constant improvement, and often anticipating technological innovations which turned out to be instrumental in obtaining the advanced products we are currently accustomed to.
Within today's Italian corporate world, the motor industry is engaged in every sector where internal combustion engines are used, such as the vehicle, industry, farming, construction, power generation and marine application sectors.
Thanks to the efforts made in all these past decades, the development of Italian engines in terms of unit power increase, noise and vibration reduction, fume reduction, and improvements in terms of reliability and maintenance cost reduction has been on a level with the most qualified competitors worldwide. This is reflected in the export share, which is now over 60% of total production. This result has also been achieved thanks to the global distribution and service network currently available to Italian companies.
Excellent however has been achieved not simply in terms of product quality, but also and especially in the ability to constantly focus on the customers, including the provision of OEM engineering support at the time of integrating the engine in the end product.
