CO.AER is the Italian Association of Air Treatment Equipment Manufacturers; it is a member of ANIMA, the Federation of the Italian Associations of Mechanical and Engineering Industries.
Established in 1964 as a trade Organisation, during the years of the industrial reconstruction it represented the category's interest towards the public bodies then in charge for the overall reorganisation, and successfully participated in the formulation of standards and unified codes. In 1992 it was transformed into an Association and federated in ANIMA, which in turn is confederated within CONFINDUSTRIA, the General Confederation of Italian Industry.
CO.AER today assembles some 80% of the national air treatment equipment manufacturers and, by a specially introduced statutory amendment, has decided to allow membership also to international enterprises with manufacturing facilities in Italy.
Fundamental scope of the Association is: to promote the highest possible scientific and technological level for air handling products, both for industrial and residential applications and to pursue the achievement of the best market opportunities by boosting the highest quality level of the industry and creating the best conditions for industry success and finally to keep a constant presence and factual participation in all national and international entities of interest to the category.
CO.AER different divisions specialise in: fans - air distribution and diffusion equipment - air pollution control systems - air filters - water chillers - condensing units - heat pumps - unit heaters - fan coils - self contained air conditioners - heat exchangers - cooling towers. The Association is open to all Italian manufacturers, who are entitled to participate with their delegates in the Association activity, its commissions and working groups.
CO.AER represent the industry category towards the Ministries of Industry and Environment through ANIMA and CONFINDUSTRIA; in addition it is associated to UNI and CTI, the national standards organisations, and participates in their working groups with its delegates. Its experts are also actively contributing to several working groups of CEN and ISO, the European and international standards organisation respectively.
CO.AER is a member of EUROVENT/CECOMAF, the European Committee of the National Trade Associations for Air Treatment and Refrigeration. In the field of the European standardisation, the Association sets up seminars, work shops and technical conferences to introduce its associates to problems arising from the application of European Directives and discusses issues connected with the evolution of standardisation and regulation. It also organises meetings with similar trade associations in order to present and discuss joint interests with the State authorities.
CO.AER carries out and publishes yearly statistics of the Italian production and, on behalf and in cooperation with EUROVENT/.CECOMAF compiles the European production statistics. CO.AER promotes and coordinates trade fairs and is a member of the Strategic Committee of Mostra Convegno Expocomfort in representation of its associates.
Italian air treatment equipment production reaches approximately 1,550 Billion Euro.
