| ASSOTERMICA - Heating
system, component and equipment manufacturers |
ASSOTERMICA
was established in 1993 upon transformation of the Unione Calore, which
was founded in 1972. The new entity took the form of an autonomous association
federated with ANIMA.
ASSOTERMICA represents 60 manufacturers of thermal devices, plants, and
components used for climate control in buildings. In Italy, this sector
employs over 12,000 people and generates sales of over 2.000.000,00 Euro
Seven merchandise categories are covered by ASSOTERMICA:
forced-air burners for liquid, gaseous,
and mixed fuels
boilers for forced-air burners
floor and wall-mounted boilers with aspirated
air gas burners
heating elements in cast iron, steel,
and aluminum
regulating, measuring, and safety components
and systems
gas powered hot air generators and gas
radiators
radiant heating systems
ASSOTERMICA is committed to a process of evolution towards a broader associative
vision of global awareness of the problems confronting the entire building-plant
system.
The manufacturers belonging to ASSOTERMICA have a common objective: continuous
improvement in the quality of residential heating in terms of both worker
and consumer safety, yield, and respect for the environment.
Residential heating does not simply mean the transfer of heat from a generator
to a living space. It also means affecting the external environment through
emissions, the national economy through consumption, and the safety and
health of people through control and regulation systems. Thus, the heating
plant must address various demands that are occasionally in conflict with
each other.
Accordingly, ASSOTERMICA believes that the interests of its members must
be pursued consistently with a long-term perspective, credibility, authority,
and, above all, respect of the law and the rules of the free market. To
promote improvement in living standards, ASSOTERMICA has for years promoted
a different attitude amongst its members: one that anticipates and participates
in the formulation of national norms affecting the sector, rather than
a defensive, reactive approach.
ASSOTERMICA also promotes:
the introduction of international quality
systems of firms
the establishment of certification entities
and laboratories
compliance with EU norms
the participation of members at specialized
trade fairs, shows, and conferences in Italy and abroad
ASSOTERMICA promotes energy conservation, safety, and the environment
through an efficient system of services for member firms:
legislative techniques: technical
support and participation in the legislative process (at the national
and European levels) to ensure optimal levels of component performance
and safety
certification: the association
maintains relations with the leading certification organizations, makes
agreements and conventions on behalf of its members, and promotes quality
certification of products and firms
economic studies: development
of structural and periodic analyses of the sector, especially annual and
quarterly market studies (domestic and export markets) for each sector
conferences: organization of conferences
and seminars on specific topics that are open to members and non-members
alike, participation at similar events held by other associations
training: development of measures
to promote adaptation of members to evolution in products and production
systems
information: gathering and diffusion
of information on domestic and European legislation and the activity of
lawmaking committees and commissions
representation: the association
represents the point of view of members before public authorities in Italy
and international certification organizations
promotion: ASSOTERMICA promotes
discussion and encounters amongst members, guiding them towards qualitative
development of the sector
publishing: publication of "guidelines,"
in support of norms, intended for designers, installers, and makers
